eLearning for Instructors
Institute for Distance and Distributed Learning Research Fellowship
OVERVIEW:
An IDDL Research Fellowship is a funded award intended to provide seed funding for faculty to conduct research in teaching and learning in electronic environments. The award is given periodically as funds are available. Funding is typically around $5,000.
The intent of the award is two fold:
- to increase research activity within the university community in this important field of discovery; and,
- it is hoped that the research efforts enabled by the Fellowship will generate results suitable for scholarship in the way of journal articles and conference presentations, and serve as leverage for faculty to obtain other sponsored research.
The requirements associated with the IDDL Research Fellowship are:
- completion of an application (see criteria below)
- the research involves some aspect of teaching and learning in electronic environments
- the researcher abides by IRB guidelines and policies
- the recipient prepares a final written report suitable for publication on the IDDL website.
Funding associated with the award is transferred to a fund in the facultyÕs department for use by that faculty for any activity related to their teaching, research and outreach efforts. The faculty agrees to abide by university and state purchasing policies in the use of these funds.
